Guv unfazed about raps filed against him

Gov. Arthur Yap says that he is ready to face the charges filed against him by his critics.

This comes as a critic filed a complaint against the governor and other Capitol officials on Thursday, July 15, 2021.

“I am ready to face any case of harassment. With the elections in 2022 just around the corner, this is expected. This will not however distract me from serving my fellow Boholanos,” the governor said in a statemwnt released on Thursday.

A critic of the provincial administration has filed a plunder complaint before the Ombudsman against Yap on Thursday.

In a post, critic Willy Ramasola said he facilitated the filing of the plunder complaint, which was signed by former Tagbilaran city mayor Dan Neri Lim.

Ramasola said that the complaint has the full backing of concerned Boholanos from various sectors who support President Duterte’s thurst to eliminate corruption in the country.

Ramasola said that the governor’s co-respondents include Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto, and members of the Bids and Awards Commitee. The case consolidated the charges of alleged irregularities in Capitol transactions involving service providers, and suppliers for rice, lights and sounds systems, broadcast system services, and alleged overpriced fuel.

For his part, Provincial Legal Officer (PLO) Nilo Ahat said he is awaiting for the summons related to the plunder complain filed against the governor, provincial administrator and members of the Bids and Awards Committee.

Ahat, in a telephone interview on Thursday, said he is not going to answer complaints based on reports appearing on social media.
