Guv secures J&J vaccines for Bohol

Gov. Art Yap, Sec. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat and Sec. Charlie Galvez finalizing details on the arrival of at least 50,000 J&J single dose vaccines for Bohol.

Gov. Arthur Yap bared on Saturday evening, July 17, 2021, that he was able to secure doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine for Bohol.

He said this in a text message to The Bohol Tribune this evening. He added that he is now in Manila with vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez to secure the one-dose vaccine.

This news of Yap’s success in acquiring the j and j vaccine is a boon to the province of Bohol.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is unique compared to other anti-Coronavirus vaccines because it only takes one dose to provide a person full immunity compared to a two-dose vaccine regimen like AstraZanica, Pfizer, Sinovac, and others.

The vaccines are due to arrive in Bohol next week, the governor said.
