“When you are in a position of leadership, those who would like to see you fail will always find reasons to bring you down,” Cong. Edgar M. Chatto said when  asked by The Bohol Tribune to comment on the attacks directed at the Capitol.

“That is the price of leadership,” he explained, empathetic to the situation of Gov. Art Yap and Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos. The Capitol officials have all the right to defend themselves and present their side of the story.

To recall, Chatto himself was also subject to a myriad of criticism, baseless and sometimes even personal attacks throughout his three terms as governor.

“This is not unique to the governor. Any position of leadership can be a target of criticism and attack,” he stated.

Chatto added, “Moving on amidst rough seas makes one a stronger person.”
