Tagb’s CSWDO conducts 2-day strategic planning activity

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) conducted a 2-day strategic and operational planning workshop, facilitated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) -Strengthening Urban Resilience for Growth and Development (SURGE) project under Dr. Rosalinda Paredes, held on July 8 and 9, 2021, according to a report from the City Media Bureau.

The activity targets to professionalize and enhance the procedures in the said office to better serve the public.

 City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II in his message encouraged the participants to actively engage in all the sessions.

“This workshop is a good opportunity to strategize and clarify the goals and directions where the unit wants to go. Indeed, a step forward to level up the brand of public service that we are committed to give to the Tagbilaranons,” Mayor Yap said.

Moreover, Paredes said that during the 2-day workshop, participants were guided to assess the office’s current situation, specifically the sectors being served by the CSWDO.

This was followed by an analysis of the CSWDO’s implementation of its various programs.  

The analysis was the basis for the formulation of a vision for each division of the CSWDO, which comprises the Administrative Division, Persons with Disability(PWD) and Elderly Welfare Division, Child and Youth Welfare Division, Family Welfare Division, and Community and Women’s Livelihood Division. 

The 2-day workshop produced the agency’s goal which were summed up in this vision which is to support self-reliant and empowered Tagbilaranons with strong family ties, caring for disadvantaged and vulnerable sectors, at the same time, enjoying improved and better quality of life provided by vibrant and dynamic social services delivery programs.

The 2-day activity culminated with the preparation of a 4-year strategic plan and a 1-year action plan for 2022, the report from the City Media Bureau.
Some CSWDO personnel commented that the two-day workshop was productive and inspirational as they have now seen how their work contributed to the overall social development in Tagbilaran City.
