The University of Bohol (UB) College of Engineering and Technology added another accolade to the University’s roster of internationally recognized alumni.

Engr. Alberto R. Tan was accepted as a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Engineering Register (AER) by the Philippine Technological Council (PTC), according to a report released by UB.

He was accepted as an ASEAN Engineer on July 3, 2021, through the Virtual Conferment Ceremony sponsored by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) national chapter.

He was the chief of quality control in a railway tunnel project, which led to the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and led Civil Quality Assurance and Quality Control in King Falsal Air Academy Project in Al Majmaah, Saudi Arabia.

Tan finished his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the UB in March, 1985.

He took and passed the Civil Engineering Board Examinations on September 29, 1986.

According to Tan: “This is a very significant achievement that I gained, thus putting myself into a higher level of my engineering career and also a great honor for my Alma Mater – the University of Bohol.”

The UB is delighted in Tan’s milestone as it serves as an inspiration to other UBians.

UB continues to strive to pursue its mission for its students: transforming lives for a great future. (Hannah Rodriguez)
