PSA opens nat’l ID registration center in Tagb

Tagbilaran City mayor John Geesnell Yap II led the opening of the fixed registration center (FRC) of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) where the public can engage in transactions involving the national identification system, according to a report from the City Media Bureau released on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

The new FRC was inaugurated on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the 2nd floor of Galleria Luisa mall along Gallares st.

According to PSA Bohol director Jessamyn Alcazaren the public may avail themselves of various services related to the national identification system such as registration, updating of information and even renewal of the national ID.

The FRC can cater to even to non-Tagbilaran residents as far as national identification system -related services are concerned, Alcazaren said.

The national identification system also knowm as Philsys ID is the official identification card for Filipinos worldwide and for foreigners who are permanent residents of the country, according to the PSA.

The Philsys ID is created by virtue of Republic Act 11055 which was signed into law by President Duterte in 2018.

The national ID is meant to help ease private and government transactions where proving one’s identity is a crucial part such as opening bank accounts or claiming of government subsidies or amelioration.
