Boholano son of farmer, store keeper earns scholarship in US college

The Boholano son of a farmer and a store keeper from Talibon town earned a full ride scholarship to Amherst College located in Massachusetts, USA, according to reports.

Amherst College is one of the most prestigious colleges in the world, the same report adds.

Gelbert Crescencio aspires to become a neuroscientist and neurosurgeon. He strived to look for ways to be accepted and earn a scholarship in his dream school.

Cresencio said that he wanted to help people who are suffering from neurological conditions. His own grandfather died of Alzheimer’s disease, the report bares.

He knew it would be impossible for his parents to send him to college given the cost of a college education.

After graduating high school from Holy Name University, Cresencio worked to find ways to bag a full scholarship and he was successful.

Only 118 persons out of 5,000 aspirants who applied from around the world bagged a full scholarship, and this includes Crecencio.

According to the report, the scholarship grant is equivalent to P4 million.
