Barangay Manga receives P400k in financial assistance from City Gov’t

City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II turned over P400,000 in financial assistance to barangay Manga, according to reports from the City Media Bureau.
The financial assistance was received by Manga barangay captain Deo Dalida.
Moreover, Dalida was accompanied by Manga barangay kagawad Magna Bines Gesalan during the turnover of financial aid, the report adds.
Gugma Tagbilaran founder, FIrst Lady Jane Yap also distributed food packs, face masks and face shields to all present during the simple turnover ceremony.
The Tagbilaran City Government allocated P400,000 worth of financial assistance each to the City’s 15 barangays.
Mayor Yap said the assistance to the barangays could be used to augment the Coronavirus disease (Covid) mitigation efforts of the barangays.
“During this pandemic, various expenses will put a dent in the budget, specifically during lockdowns. Thus, we saw it fit to allocate financial assistance to the barangays. This additional budget will help them address their budgetary concerns and at the same time continue the initiatives they have planned for,” Mayor Yap said.
Along with the financial assistance, hazard pay will also be given to the barangay workers involved in the mitigation and management of Covid.
Major shift in the budget happened during the onset of the pandemic.
It can be remembered that Tagbilaran City Government provided relief goods in four tranches during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period.
Cash incentives were also provided to the solo parents, nursing mothers, and persons with disability, as food coupons were also given to school kids, the report from the City Media Bureau bares.
The City Health Office (CHO) also gave free real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests to all the incoming Tagbilaranons, a practice which the lone city of Bohol fully embraced.
The free flu vaccines given to all the City Government employees were also an additional undertaking to curb the spread of Covid, as the barangay health centers were also provided with vitamins.
The distribution of financial assistance to each barangay in the City is another major initiative of the City Government to hasten development amid the health crisis.
Mayor Yap leads opening rites of the new PHILSYS ‘ FRC office

City Mayor John Geesnell Yap led the opening rites of the new Philippine Identification System (PHILSYS) Fixed Registration Center (FRC) located in the 2nd Floor of the Galleria Luisa Mall, a report from the City Media Bureu said.
Yap was accompanied by Provincial Statistics Officer Jessamyn Anne Alcazaren during the official start of operations of the FRC on July 21, 2021.
The PHILSYS FRC was established by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to conduct registration services, including the updating and renewal of the Philippine National Identification.
To date, the PSA reached a milestone as it records over 4 million registrants using the online registration process, the report mentions.
The PSA is finding ways to minimize health risks by managing the number of registrants at registration centers at any given time through its scheduling of appointment facility.
From the house-to-house collection of demographic information, which started in October 2020 in select provinces, PSA launched the online registration site on April 30, 2021 to allow more Filipinos to complete the first step in acquiring the national ID.
Currently, all 81 provinces and cities/municipalities in the National Capital Region have already started the collection of additional data such as biometrics which is part of the production of the national ID.
After the collection of data, national ID registrants will be given a PHILSYS Number (PSN) and a Philippine Identification (PhilID) card. The PSN is a randomly-generated number that will serve as a permanent identification number of a registrant. Considered as sensitive personal information, the PSN must be kept confidential and private. When transacting, registrants must use the public version of the PSN, namely the PHILSYS Card Number (PCN), which is also printed in the PhilID card.
PSA has partnered with the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of the PhilIDs to the registrants.
PHILSYS aims to usher the nation’s transition into a digital society by providing Filipinos with a valid identification that can be verified both physically and digitally.
With PHILSYS, access to financial services, social protection, health, education, and other government services will be easier and more convenient. PHILSYS is also envisioned to make public and private transactions safer, more seamless, and more efficient for Filipinos.
