Aris reiterates need to follow protocol amid rise of number of Covid deaths

Cong. Erico Aristotle Aumentado appealed to the public to continue following the basic health and safety protocol amid rising number of fatalities in Bohol due to the Coronavirus disease (Covid), according to a press statement from the solon’s office released today, Aug. 2, 2021.

Aumentado’s statement comes as the Covid death count has already reached 203 on August 1, 2021, based on the report from the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF).

Meanwhile, Aumentado observed that the vaccine rollout in Bohol is experiencing an obstacle, which is vaccine hesitancy.

The solon is not discounting the Boholanos’ love of folklore so that he expressed amusement that the hesitancy, among others, is due to the belief that the vaccine will turn a vaccinated person into a zombie.

In his town sorties within the second district, Aumentado is convincing his constituents to have their two jabs of the vaccine.

If they are lucky and if their town receives doses of the Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine, they can be fully vaccinated with just one shot.

At the same time, Aumentado warns his constituents that immunization does not mean one will never get infected with Covid anymore.

The vaccine merely ensures that one gets only a mild form of the disease, he explained.

Aumentado said that even if one is already fully vaccinated, he or she must continue to wear facemasks and shields, wash his or her hands often or sanitize with rubbing alcohol, and keep social distance.
