Teenager faces homicide rap

An 18-year-old laborer is facing a homicide charge as he allegedly killed a 51-year-old man, according to reports released today, Monday, Aug. 2, 2021.

The stabbing incident happened on Aug. 1, 2021, at a construction site in barangay Lomanog, Ubay town, the reports add.

The reports add that Paul Javie Braña, a native of Victorias City, Negros Occidental allegedly stabbed the victim identified as Joseph Eleccion Sr. also from Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Reports reveal that the police received a call about an alleged stabbing incident as Ubay town’s first responders attended to the medical needs of the victim.

Furthermore, the emergency first responders rushed the victim to a nearby health care facility but was declared dead on arrival.

Initial investigation say the suspect, who was allegedly drunk, attempted to borrow the victim’s rice cooker. The suspect got mad after the victim refused to lend the rice cooker

The police say the suspect then stabbed the victim multiple times in different parts of the body.

Furthermore, the police immediately arrested the suspect and will be filing homicide charges against the latter.
