On Quarantine

Being on quarantine for Fourteen (14) days is not a joke. I was isolated in one place and no one dared to interact with me. All I can do is chat whenever I needed something. It was hard to just see my loved ones and yet I can’t touch or hug them. My children waved and smiled from afar. It was then I realized that I should treasure every moment with them when I finally have the freedom I seek.

Knowing that some of your loved ones contacted the virus is not easy. Even if they are vaccinated, you should never be complacent. Sincere prayers are all you could do when you are distant.

Aside from Family, co-workers are as of the same level of vulnerability because you are together for at least eight hours a day for Five – Six days. Safety in the office is crucial in keeping our homes COVID-free.

OPPORTUNITIES

If you happen to be at home with your family while reading this, you are fortunate. There are still a lot of things to be grateful for in the midst of all this crisis and being alive and COVID-free are among them.

We have ample time to bond and have meaningful conversations at home. When did you talk to each other discussing your struggles with everyday life? You are not so busy now, enjoy each other’s company. Watch movies together and laugh while telling memories. Dine together with loved ones.

Use your creativity through art. Widen your imagination and think outside the box you are in. Create stories that would usher inspiration to the world. Use those hidden talents to inspire.

Netizens enjoy sharing funny pictures (memes) while others express dissent towards certain policies they don’t understand. But please, avoid sharing fake news. We should be mindful of our thoughts and actions as not to worsen the situation.

Reach out to others via social media or through phone calls & texts. Help while you can. Do not hoard supplies and food because others need them too. Let compassion rule over greed.

Also, the best way to ponder on certain things in life is to meditate and pray. Talk to your God. Even if we have different religions, we have one prayer in mind and that is to rid the world of this virus.

So please cooperate with the Government. Grab the opportunity and be vaccinated whenever there’s a chance. Follow those health and safety protocols and minimum health standards.
