Teaser No. 14: Do you remember the maxim, “He who comes into equity must come with clean hands”?

Do you remember the maxim, “He who comes into equity must come with clean hands? It means that if you go and accuse others of their fault, you should be blameless yourself.

No one can take the moral high ground if one is not fit to do so because of dubious morality.

No one can point an accusing finger at  anybody, as three other fingers are pointing back at him/her.

Who is perfect, anyway?

When we consider people as role models, these are the very people we often look up to because they have moral ascendancy and they live morally upright lives.

More often, role models behave by observing moral truths and tenets in life.

Role models are public personalities or public figures—at least known persons in a given community—with exemplary ethics and unbridled moral character.

These people are able to influence others to live morally upright lives as they themselves are examples of morality.

Thus we ask these questions:

  1. Naa na may nag sige ug singgit karon ug kalimpyo sa kinabuhi, katul-id sa ilang gilaktan, ug kasulondon sa ilang gipanghimo, tinuod ba?
  1. Is a person, entitled to castigate another person in public when the former is hiding a lot of skeletons in the closet – skeletons that have been hidden in the family’s closet from the generation to this generation?
  1. C’mon, sir/madam, silhigi sa nang imong nataran, sa dili ka pa manghinaway sa kahugaw sa nataran sa uban.
  1. Daghan pan pangutana ang atong angay ilabay sa sunod hulad sa tong pamantalaan.
  2. Mao kini ang giingon nga baga ug fez! See you next issue!
