BIATF meets to discuss key issues re Covid containment

The Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) met on Aug. 9, 2021 to discuss key strategies to contain the spread of the Coronavirus disease (Covid) in the province and perhaps prevent or delay the entry of the dreaded Delta variant.

According to a report issued by the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER), Gov. Arthur Yap presided over the virtual meeting of the BIATF.

The report adds that the meeting discussed the situation on the vaccine rollout, critical levels of the health care utilization, and the contact tracing procedures.

The governor appealed to the hospital chiefs and owners of health care facilities to increase the number of rooms dedicated to Covid patients.

He also told the mayors to cease allowing home isolation as a way to manage those infected with Covid.

Reports bare that the meeting was attended by Bohol mayors, officers of different health care facilities, officers of the Department of Health, and members of the Management Executive Board (MEB) of the Provincial Government of Bohol.

Meanwhile, reports reveal that the province already received at least 7,500 doses of vaccines, which are part of the supply promised by vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez, Tourism Sec. Bernadette Puyat and Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) deputy chief implementor Sec. Vince Dizon.
