SP to set rates for dialysis service in PGBh medical facilities

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol headed by Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos during their pre-session conference held on August 10, 2021 had an initial thorough deliberation on the proposed ordinance that will establish the rates for the hemodialysis treatment services in all hospitals and medical facilities owned and operated by the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh).

As tackled during the said meeting, Prov. Health Office (PHO) officer-in-charge Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez explained that the newly-built hemodialysis center in Talibon has been cleared to operate and can now accept patients.

Lopez added there is a need to have an official tariff rate that will be used as a guideline in charging patients for availing the hemodialysis services.

The PHO initially suggested that the rates will be patterned to what Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital is charging its dialysis patients.

Relampagos said putting up additional dialysis centers in Bohol is one of the priority programs and projects under the Yap-Relampagos administration.

It has been observed that many Boholanos suffer from renal disease and getting dialysis treatment from private institutions are quite expensive.

Relampagos added that the PGBh is also planning to open dialysis centers in Jagna, Carmen, and other parts of Bohol.

The PGBh’s dialysis centers will be affordable and provide excellent services just like what the private hospitals are providing.

Meanwhile, the proposed ordinance establishing the rates for dialysis treatment services was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means and Committee on Health, with the Committee on Ways and Means as the lead committee.

Relampagos, likewise, assured that the ordinance will be passed this month of August due to its urgency.
