Barangay Poblacion 3 was the first stop of the mobile vaccination bus (MVB) as the City Government rolled out the project that aims to make it easier for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWD) and with mobility problems to get vaccinated, according to a report from the City Media Bureau.
Senior citizen Eulalia Cadelina Remolador was one of the early beneficiaries of the MVB’s services.
City Health Officer (CHO) Dr. Jeia Pondoc, City Nurses Ma. Reina Balay and Leo Echavez led the medical team, along with personnel from the City Traffic and Management Office (CTMO) who managed the traffic in the said barangay.
City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II said that the project could hasten the vaccine roll out in the city.
“COVID-19 vaccines are for everybody, thus, making a way for those who cannot go to the center, is a must. The mobile vaccination bus exactly does just that,” Mayor Yap said.
A visit of the MVB could be arranged through the City Mayor’s Office (CMO).

The vaccines for COVID-19 are made available through the coordinative efforts of the City Government with support of the Provincial Government led by Gov. Arthur Yap and the Department of Health (DOH).
To date, the Tagbilaran CHO already increased the number of its vaccination sites and started to accommodate walk-ins for specified categories.
The five vaccination centers assigned to the different barangays are: Bool Elementary School for barangays Bool, Mansasa and Poblacion 1; Tagbilaran City Elementary School for barangays Poblacion 2 and Poblacion 3; Dao Elementary School for barangays Dao, Tiptip, San Isidro and Cabawan; Booy Covered Court for barangay Booy, Taloto, Ubujan and Manga; and at Tagbilaran City College for barangay Dampas and Cogon.
Moreover, the categories were also expanded to A4 or essential workers.
The 15 barangays also started the registration for 18-59 years old who wish to be vaccinated.
According to CHO’s Public Information Officer, Nurse Robin Culpa, as of August 11, 2021, a total of 26,979 persons have been vaccinated in the city.
Based on the CHO‘s record, these vaccinated persons belong to the following categories: A1 or the frontliners-5,654 individuals, A2 or senior citizens -5,496 persons, A3 or people with co-morbidities, 3,893 individuals, A4 or essential workers-11,273 persons, and A5 or indigents-213 persons.
The CHO targets to inoculate at least 50% of Tagbilaran City residents or those working in the city but live in other towns in Bohol by the end of September 2021.
