SP pushes for lower RAT rates

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) led by Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos pushes for lower Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) rates in the different medical laboratories and facilities owned and managed by the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh).

During the Presiding Officer’s Time of the Aug. 10, 2021 regular session, Relampagos brought up the request of Gov. Arthur Yap to pass an ordinance that will fix the rates of RAT in province-owned facilities.

The proposed ordinance fixing the RAT rates was passed on second reading on Aug. 17, 2021.

The proposal is to set the RAT rates at P800 which only covers the purchase cost of RAT kits.

Initially, the fee was pegged at P 950 to cover the price of the RAT kits and the salaries of the medical health workers.

However, in light with the request of Yap, the proposed rate is further lowered to P 800 after a thorough discussion during the second reading of the proposed ordinance.

“Dili ta ana. Dili ta mag pa ginansiya. Tabang kining atoa” was Relampagos’ response as following the push of the RAT rate proposal in the SP.
