Teaser No. 16: Are Philhealth payments to hospitals, doctors delayed?

At this time of a pandemic, the most important resources we have are our health care professionals and our health care facilities.

Without them, it is almost impossible to manage the pandemic.

We have to realize that we need to pay our medical professionals and our facilities so they can continue to work and operate, effectively.

We have some questions related to this concern:

1.) Is it true that some hospitals in the country are  already struggling to keep their operations because the Philhealth payments are delayed?
2. Is it true that it takes a while before the medical practitioners can collect their professional fees despite the fact that they labor day and night in order to take care of their patients?
3. If this is the case, how far and how long can our healthcare facilities and practitioners endure the ordeal?
4. How about the salaries of those who are in the top echelon of officials in PHILTHEALTH, are these also delayed?
5. Does the public have the right to know the real score of the release of PHILHEALTH payments to hospitals and medical practitioners?
