Cecile May Grupp of barangay Tawala bags the title of Hudyaka sa Panglao Festival Queen 2021 after she was crowned during the virtual grand coronation night on Aug. 25, 2021, according to reports coming from the Municipality of Panglao.
Jonalinda Bodiongan of barangay Looc is the first runner-up and the second runner-up is Bernadette Tabaniag of barangay Poblacion.
The beauty pageant was part of the virtual festivities lined up for the celebration of the town’s fiesta.
Panglao celebrates its town fiesta on Aug. 28, 2021, with the Hudyaka sa Panglao ritual performances pre-taped and will be shown through cable television and town’s social media accounts.
The special award winners were: Bodiongan is Miss Photogenic awards; Cindy Tay of barangay Liba-ong copping the Miss Social Media Award; Grupp winning the Best in Evening Gown and Best in Opening Production.
Moreover, Olaivar also captured the Best in Solo Performance award and Best in Festival Costume.
The beauty pageant was hosted by Bohol Tribune’s columnist and Panglao’s Executive Assistant handling the Communications Chandymar Batoy with former Miss Panglao and former Miss Bohol 1st runner-up Mary Rose Butalid.
In her speech, Panglao mayor Leonila Montero expressed thanks to the town’s patron saint, St. Augustine of Hippo, and the Almighty for all the blessings.
She also extended her thanks to the different heads of offices, Sangguniang Bayan members, the barangay captains and officials, and all those who extended support to make the pageant successful.
The lady mayor emphasized that her administration remain steadfast in service of the people despite the Covid threats.
Montero is thankful that even there were challenges, her government remains strong and able to provide the right service to Panglaoanons.
