The Bohol Organic Farmers Association (BOFA) is organizing a Farmers’ Market Day once a week starting on Sept. 3, 2021, featuring organic agricultural products, according to an information provided to The Bohol Tribune.
The activity is being organized in cooperation with Reyna’s the Haven and Garden, according to BOFA organizer Marilou Escalona, in a letter dated Aug. 24, 2021, sent to Gov. Arthur Yap.
The Farmer’s Market Day is going to be held at the grounds of Reyna’s the Haven and Garden located along Calceta st., in Tagbilaran City.
The activity is part of BOFA’s “vision of promoting safe and naturally produced farm products.”
Escalona said in her letter that her organization invited local organic farmers and help them market their products .
She added that this is also a a way for BOFA to support the government’s food security program through a sustainable agricultural initiative.
For her part, Provincial Agriculturist Liza Quirog, in a post, said that the Farmers’ Market Day is the answer for the province’s longing for organic agricultural products. Those who like to get organic farm produce can get them from the market day organized by the BOFA, she added.
