Guv consults leaders in crafting Padayon Bol-anon’s line-up

Gov. Arthur Yap says the Padayon Bol-anon coalition is still in the thick of consultations among its leaders for the finalization of the line-up  that will be fielded in next year’s election in answer to a question (about the matter)  thrown to him during the virtual press conference at the Capitol on Aug. 27, 2021.

Bohol’s local chief executive said his side will bare the Padayon Bol-anon’s line-up in due time, following the process of consultation.

One thing sure, according to Yap, is he is gunning for a second term as governor with incumbent Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos as his running mate.

“Pabilin ang tandem namo ni Vice Gov. Rene Lopez Relampagos,” Yap told Capitol media on Friday.

“We are slowly receiving and finalizing atong line-ups o slate; at the proper time, atong ipahibalo [ang line-up] sa atong mga kaigsoonan” he said.

The coalition has been consulting with “local and district chairmen and municipal chairmen and Padayon Bol-anon will field a good slate this coming elections,” the governor added.

The Commission on Elections has set the period of the filing of the Certificate of Candiacy from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8, 2021 or just after the deadline of the voters registration slated on Sept. 30, 2021, according to reports.

PROBABILITY

In all probability, Padayon Bol-anon will field Rep. Edgar Chatto as its bet for first district congressman. There are no reports about his possible opponent thus far.

Moreover, Padayon Bol-anon is expected to name former Board Member Jaja Jumamoy as its candidate for second district representative to be pitted against Maria Vanessa Aumentado. Maria Vanessa, the wife of incumbent second district congressman Erico Aristotle Aumentado, reportedly will be the one gunning to fill the slot that will be vacated by her husband.

In the third district, it has been reported that Valencia mayor Katrina Lim is Padayon Bol-anon’s bet and will be facing off against incumbent solon Kristine Alexie Tutor in next year’s elections.

Incumbent board members in the first district Ricky Masamayor and Aldner Damalerio are expected to be included in the Padayon Bol-anon slate. The coalition has yet to name its third candidate for board member in the first district.

On the other hand, Board Member Frans Garcia-Devenosa is expected to be included in the line-up of Padayon Bol-anon as second district board member. It has been reported that Board Member Restituto Auxtero will no longer seek re-election as board member of the 2nd district.

Sources say that Board Member Vierna Mae Boniel-Maglasang has switched side and is now part of the Padayon Bol-anon group. It can be recalled that Maglasang ran in the 2019 under the slate of losing gubernatorial candidate Sec. Leoncio Evasco Jr.

In the third district, Board Member Elpidio Bonita is the lone incumbent from Padayon Bol-anon who is reportedly seeking re-election. The other incumbent board member belonging to Padayon Bol-anon is Jade Bautista who is reportedly eyeing on the mayoralty post at Garcia Hernandez town.
