(EXCLUSIVE) Bohol logs 5 new Delta variant cases

At least 5 Delta variant cases were attributed to Bohol, according to Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto.

In a phone interview on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, Pioquinto confirmed the report that new Delta variant cases were attributed to Bohol.

She said that 2 cases are from Tagbilaran City, 1 case is from Baclayon and 1 from San Miguel town.

These cases are touted to be local transmissions, Pioquinto said.

Another case of Delta variant is from a returning overseas Filipino whose address is Loboc town, the provincial administrator told the Bohol Tribune.

Those cases deemed as local transmissions were swabbed back in July here in the province.

The Delta variant-infected person from Loboc was swabbed back in early August upon arrival in the country.

Pioquinto is still checking whether or not the infected returning Filipino has arrived here.

It can be recalled that early this month, 1 case of Delta variant was logged in Tagbilaran City and 1 case was attributed to Candijay town.
