Boy, parents rescued in a Getafe town landslide

A boy and his parents were rescued after they were buried in a landslide at a quarry site in barangay San Jose, Getafe town, on Monday, August 30, 2021, reports say on Aug. 31, 2021.

Reports coming from the police bare a resident reported that a family, working in a quarry, were buried under a pile of mud following a landslide in the said area.

Police rescued Franco Torremocha, 46 and his live-in partner Elizabeth Cuajao, 31 and thsir 5-year-old son.

Police said the victims were immediately brought to a health center and later transferred to a hospital for further treatment.

According to the police, Torremocha asked the site owner to allow him and his family to do quarry activities so they can buy food and other essential commodities.

Reports add the landslide could have been caused by rains that occurred in the area prior to the accident.

All victims sustained wounds and are in a stable condition as they are confined in a hospital, as of this writing, according to reports.
