The spokesman of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) revealed that aside from the 5 new cases of Delta variant infection, there are cases here infected with other variants of the Coronavirus disease (Covid) such as the Alpha and Beta variants.
He made the revelation during a virtual presser on Aug. 31, 2021 and aired through social media.
He said there are 2 cases here infected with the Alpha variant or also known as the UK variant.
One case of Alpha variant infection is from Talibon, which is a local transmission and a patient from Catigbian who is a returning overseas Filipino, according to the BIATF spokesman
Lopez reported 5 cases of Beta variant also known as the South African variant here.
The new Beta variant cases in Bohol are: 1 patient from Tagbilaran, which is a local transmission; 1 person from Dauis, a local transmission; 1 patient from Valencia, a local transmission; 1 Jagna person, which is another local transmission and 1 local transmission from Buenavista, Lopez said.
Earlier, it was reported that there are 5 new cases of Delta variant attributed to Bohol. Around 2 local transmissions of the Delta variant are logged in Tagbilaran, 1 local transmission in Baclayon and another local transmission of the said variant occurred in San Miguel town. This is on top of a returning overseas Filipino from Loboc who tested positive for the more contagious Delta variant.
