The Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) shifted to Level 4 Coronavirus disease (Covid) response, starting today until Sept. 16, 2021, a text message sent by the said hospital’s chief Dr. Mutya Kismet Macuno.
In the text message, Macuno said that GCGMH is no longer accepting non-Covid cases including elective surgeries.
“We are on full capacity and expanding our beds to accommodate more Covid patients,” Macuno said in the text message to The Bohol Tribune.
This means all other cases brought to GCGMH, which are non-Covid will be referred to other hospitals through the Emergency Operation Center (EOC), according to information provided by the GCGMH via its social media account.
Aside from elective surgeries, ob-gyne procedures and ambulatory servicesare suspended starting Sept. 2, 2021 until Sept. 16, 2021.
This move of the GCGMH comes as there is a surge in Covid cases in the province and the alarming number of detected cases of the Delta variant in Bohol, the hospital managent headed by Macuno said in a statement posted on GCGMH’s social media account on Sept. 2, 2021.
As this developed the leadership of the GCGMH calls on the public to continue observing minimum health standards and to get vaccinated when possible.
