Balilihan mayor Pureza Chatto said that her town government has started to plan for the celebration of the SUMAD 2021 this coming Sept. 29, 2021, where most of the activities will be done virtually.
Chatto made the revelation in an interview over Open Forum radio program on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
The Balilihan mayor said her team already met on Sept. 1, 2021, to discuss the plans for SUMAD 2021, which is the celebration of the town’s foundation day.
To comply with protocol and prevent potential super spreader events most of the activities in the SUMAD will be done virtually where only a few people will be involved.
She added that the activities will be documented through video and will be posted on different platforms.
The town government plans to conduct several contests and an agro-industrial fair in each barangay.
Each barangay will have an agro-industrial booth located near their respective barangays halls and will be covered via video, the mayor said.
Only personnel tasked for the video production and the judges will be allowed to be present in some of the contests or activities.
Chatto said the exact details of the plans for the celebration of SUMAD will be released soon once finalized.
Balilihan is celebrating its 193rd SUMAD or foundation anniversary this year. The foundation celebration is slated on Sept. 29, 2021, according to Chatto.
