One of the aspirations under the administration of Governor Arthur C. Yap and Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos for Capitol employees is to offer the best health care benefits.

The provincial government leadership said the health insurance card for the employees is an added benefit for them aside from the benefits covered under the PhilHealth insurance.

The health insurance is a huge help to the employees as it cannot be denied that the assistance under the PhilHealth insurance is not enough to cover expenses arising from medical needs.

Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos, who advocates caring for the weak and has recently authored and sponsored a proposed ordinance establishing free medical assistance for all senior citizens in Bohol, supports the health insurance program for regular Capitol employees.

The program is a way of showing Relampagos’ appreciation for the Provincial Government of Bohol employees.

Relampagos said that the health card is the province’s way of thanking the employees for all their contributions to the accomplishments of the administration amidst the continuing threat of the Coronavirus disease (Covid).

Meanwhile, Capitol employees have expressed their heartfelt gratitude after receiving their respective health care insurance card. The health insurance has an annual coverage of up to P75,000 as they can avail themselves of the benefits in some hospitals and medical laboratory in the province.

Accordingly, the MedoCare insurance card of the employees covers the period starting May 1, 2021, and ends on April 30, 2022.

The employees can use the card in accredited hospitals such as Ramiro Community Hospital, ACE Hospital, Borja Family Hospital, and Tagbilaran Community Hospital.

Among the benefits covered are room and board accommodation and preventive healthcare benefits like annual physical examination, periodic monitoring of health problems, health habits, and family planning counselling.

It also covers outpatient services like consultations, pre-natal and post-natal consultations, eye, ear, nose and throat care, minor surgeries, routine laboratory tests, among others.

An in-patient/hospitalization benefit is likewise covered up to the annual limit.

Likewise, dental benefits are covered under the health insurance card, the report from the Capitol says.
