Panglao mayor Leonila Montero (inset) reports that about 963 boatmen, boat captains, and divemasters of the said town, each received P 3,000 as cash assistance. The payout transpired on Sept. 2, 2021 at the Panglao Cultural Center. Staff members from the Social Welfare and Development team in the provincial level conducted the said activity. Staff members of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office assisted the team from the province. These beneficiaries belong to the third batch of recipients of the second wave of distribution of cash aid to deserving individuals who have been in a crisis situation due to the pandemic. The payout stems from the initial efforts of Councilor Mira Alia Montero-Caindec, with the help of Mayor Montero, as they asked the assistance of Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go. Sen.
