The Bohol Rabbit Breeders and Meat Producers (BRBMP), a group of rabbit raisers and farmers from Tagbilaran City and Bohol, in cooperation with the Bilar Rabbitry Association staged the 1st Bohol Rabbit Festival which ran from Sept. 9 to 11, 2021 at BQ Mall Atrium, Tagbilaran City.

Rabbit meat has been endorsed by the Department of Health (DOH) as an alternative meat for pork.

It is even said to be the cleanest and healthiest meat, aside from the fact that it is low in cholesterol and high in nutrients.

During the event the BRBMP showcased live rabbits as well as their proper cages and training for the making of rabbit produce like rabbit lechon, caldereta, rabbit curry and processed rabbit meat like tocino, longaniza, siopao, empanada, etc.

Likewise, the organization had its induction and oath taking of the new set of officers headed by its elected president, Jason Poliquit.

There was an actual demonstration on how to make processed rabbit meat as well as giving-away of rabbits for those who are interested to raise them for meat.
