Atty. Nilo Ahat

The Provincial Legal Officer (PLO) Nilo Ahat slammed reports that Gov. Arthur Yap caught the Coronavirus disease (Covid) and dismissed it as “fake news”.

Ahat gave the statement during a radio interview over Open Forum radio program on Sept. 14, 2021 hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

He said that the governor has a negative real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) upon arrival in Bohol from Manila.

He then went on to read a prepared statement of the governor saying,” Pinaagi sa Grasya gikan sa Labawng Makagagahum, nagpabiling baskog ug lagsik ang atong panglawas.

Ahat said that the release of the fake news may be related to politics as the filing of Certificates of Candidacy (CoC) draws near.

The issue stems from news circulating in various platforms and even in media circles in Cebu where it was reported that allegedly the governor caught the virus.
