The Crime Laboratory in Bohol, which is based in Camp Francisco Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City, turned over on Sept. 14, 2021, drug evidence to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Visayas Laboratory Section for destruction, according to reports released on Sept. 16, 2021.

The report said that before the turnover, a PDEA chemist conducted a qualitative examination of the pieces of drug evidence with a total weight of 4.264 kilos.

The turnover is in compliance with the guidelines of the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 9165 as amended by Republic Act 10640.

According to reports, the said pieces of drug evidence will be subjected to destruction via thermal decomposition.

However, the exact time and date of the destruction of the said pieces of evidence are yet to be announced.

Thermal decomposition is the process of breaking up of a certain substance with the use of extreme heat.

PDEA Bohol head Joseph Theodore Atila earlier mentioned that due to the lack of incinerators here, destruction of the pieces of drug evidence is likely to happen in Cebu.
