Jane Yap declares she is running for Tagbilaran mayor

Jane Yap, the wife of incumbent mayor of Tagbilaran John Geesnell Yap II, declared that she is running for mayor of Bohol’s lone city.

She made the declaration during an exclusive interview over Newsmakeers ug Uban Pa on Sept. 16, 2021, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Gloria Leodivica-Araneta.

Yap earlier posted a photo of her together with her reported running mate Councilor Adam Jala and the members of her ticket.

Among the those included in the line-up are incumbent councilors Tim Butalid, Eliezer Borja, and Nerio Zamora III.

Other members of the slate are Odyssus Glovasa, Nicanor Besas, Fausto Budlong, Edgar Bompat, Charles Cabalit, Gemma Inting and Atoy Torralba.

Moreover, Yap, during the interview said that as of the moment Mayor Yap is not seeking any elective position. She added that the mayor is committed to provide support in her quest to become the next mayor of Tagbilaran.

As it stands, Jane Yap and Jala will be facing off against the duo of Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso and Councilor Augustinus “Dodong” Gonzaga who have declared their intent to run for city mayor and city vice mayor respectively.
