Guv pays Candijay farmers a visit

Gov. Arthur Yap paid members of the Candijay Tugas Irrigators Association a quick visit on Friday, a report from the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) office says.

The governor took time to look into the status of the association’s hybrid rice production area, with 100 hectares in barangay Tugas, Candijay.

The farmers told the governor that the hybrid rice seeds yield quality produce. They are also preparing for next month’s harvest.

The association is adopting the Advanced Rice Technology (ART) 160, which aims to increase rice production and in turn improve the income of rice farmers in the province.
