The local government unit (LGU) of Panglao held the ground breaking ceremonies for the future new municipal hall, with rites led by Mayor Leonila Montero, according to reports.
The groundbreaking ceremonies started at around 2:30 pm on Sept. 20, 2021, the same report says.
Councilor Amira Alia Montero-Caindec delivered the welcome address that kicked off the short program prior to the actual groundbreaking ceremonies.
In her address, Mayor Montero said the event carves another chapter in the history of the town.
Sources said the budget for the construction of the new municipal building is from the accumulated savings of the LGU from 2017 to 2020.
The future municipal hall will be a 3-storey building, with 2 elevators, and designed to be accessible to persons with disabilities.
The future municipal hall will have basement parking spaces for the town government employees and clients, the report said.
