PDEA Spokesperson-Leah Alcantara

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Central Visayas revealed that it will be burning the shabu confiscated in Bohol on Oct. 14, 2021.

This was revealed by PDEA Central Visayas public information officer Leah Alcantara in an exclusive interview over Open Forum program on Sept. 21, 2021 hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

Alcantara said that pieces of drug evidence seized in Bohol were transported to Cebu to be burned because there are no incinerators here in the province.

She added that the PDEA scouted for incinerators in Bohol and found none.

“Unfortunately, sa atong pagcanvass wala pa tay facility nga naay capacity [to burn evidence] diha sa Bohol,” she said during the interview.

In the future, if there are people in Bohol willing to invest on an incinerator, then the burning of the pieces of evidence may be conducted here in the province, she said.

7. Around 4.265 kilos with a value of almost P29 million of illegal drugs were turned over by the Bohol Crime Laboratory to PDEA-Bohol on Sept. 14, 2021 to be burned as mandated by Republic Act 9165 and Republic Act 10640.
