A social media post from a Boholano netizen, who is also a seafarer, and who was on board the same flight with Gov. Arthur Yap, went viral, a Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) report says.

The netizen, who was on his way to Manila on Sept. 22, 2021, created a post on social media showing his appreciation to the governor’s humility and laudable work ethic, bares the same report from the Capitol.

In his post, Pablito Torreon wrote, “Naa koy ipaabot ninyo mga sano. Maila man nga bootan ug porma. Wamay arte. Murag estudyante, ga backpack.

The Capitol report mentioned that other netizens commented into Torreon’s Facebook as several netizens expressed their appreciation and cited their own experiences upon meeting Gov. Yap during his visits to the barangays, towns and even at the mall.

The report revealed that netizen Joel Rhey said, “We knew him from our 9 years here in 3rd district. Di ko kalimot, nidung sa among Brgy after atong Yolanda.

The report indicated that a netizen named Ma. Gemma Sumampong also commented, “Buotan man jud si Gov. yano kaajo ug kinaiya kamao makisama sa mga kabus pero kanang uban bisan igo ra pod ang kahimtang grabe pod ang pride.”

As of press time, the post has been shared 1, 400 times and received more than a thousand reactions, the report from the Capitol said.

This is not the first time when a post about the governor went viral, the PRIMER explained.

Few weeks ago, a Boholana accidentally met Gov. Yap in a mall in Manila, during the time when the governor was in the National Capital Region (NCR) for the Partido Demokratiko ng Pilipinas (PDP) – Lakas ng Bayan (Laban) National Convention.

She approached the governor to ask him something. She wanted to confirm if, indeed, she was talking to Gov. Yap. After the confirmation that she was talking to the Bohol governor, she took a selfie together with Yap, the Capitol media office said in the report.

Feias Fhaye Dhong Fyang posted her selfie with Yap with the following caption: “Wala gyud ko nagdahom nga makaselfie ko sa Gobernador sa Bohol; at first hesitant ko kay nakaface mask baya at di pod ko sure layo ang Bohol out of curiosity.

Me: Sir can I ask?

Gov: Yes

Me: Looks familiar po, si Gov. Yap po ba kayo of Bohol?

Gov: Yes, ako si Gov. Yap

Me: (na shoooooock)

Buotana ikastorya ni Gov Wala jud koy uwaw oi ning hirit pa jud ko og selfie. Salamat sa selfie Bohol Governor Arthur Yap!”

In the comment section Feias Fhaye added, “Nakurat sad siya nga taga Bohol ko. Mura kog tarong nagkigtalking talking pod nija gahapon. Sakto, down to earth gyud.”

The Capitol report mentioned that a Boholana who is now residing in Arizona, USA also posted about her experience where she saw Gov. Yap in a molecular laboratory, lining up with others to get swabbed, and received no special treatment.

Charie Lapiz-Smith wrote, “Naa diay koy e share bahin sa Gov. Yap sa diha pako sa manila nag process ko ug papers unya nakalooy-an na approved so before me maka sakay sa airplane need me mag swab sakong anak. So nakaKita me ug swab center sa Ortigas dapit ang New World Diagnostic center. Karon need me mag hire og taxi Kay medyo layo layo me ulian unya hassle kung magcommute so pag abot namo sa center, nag fill up me daghan kaayo papel unya naka bantay ko na naay nag lingkod sa tumoy na nag fill up pod same ra me paper na ge fill upan. As in mura dile Gobernador. Yap ba last name nun?” “

These are just some of the appreciation posts made by few Boholanos who encountered the governor outside the Capitol, according to a report from the PRIMER.
