City Mayor’s Office stages badminton tourney

City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II and Tagbilaran City First Lady Jane Yap led the awarding activity for the winners of “Hampas”, the City Mayor’s Office (CMO) Badminton Challenge, according to the City Media Bureau.
Strict health protocols were observed during the entire competition in the Time-Out Sports Center, the report adds.

For the rookie category, 3rd place went to James Udtohan and Ofelia Perez, 2nd placer Ariel Tambis and Chrisel Mae Dalagan, and the grand prize went to champions Arnel Campecino and Elouisa Mae Datahan.

For the middle category, Francis Olalo and Clyde Cahatian were declared as champions, followed by 2nd placers, Louel Rotilles and Marissa Castillo, and 3rd placer, Jubz Pulgarinas and Marife Dahab.

Moreover, for the Elite Category, declared as champions were Jayson Plaza and Bianca Olalo, 2nd place went to Louel Rotilles and Ian Tambis, and 3rd place went to Edzan Orig and Riza Arayan. 
The CMO is grateful to all the sponsors of the sports meet led by Mayor Yap and Jane Yap, Globe Telecoms, Labb Construction, Atlantic Erectors, Occidental Enterprises, Dao Gas Station, Engr. Kyle Gementiza, and Vince Chiu.

The three-day sports feat  wrapped successfully last Sept. 9, 11, and 14. 2021.

Tagbilaran City and the USAID Surge Project jointly release its first asset management plan

Through the technical assistance of the United States Agency for International Development(USAID)-Strengthening Urban Resilience for Growth and Equity (SURGE) Project, the General Services Office (GSO) of Tagbilaran City under the leadership of Dr. Chris John Rener Torralba, presented to City Mayor John Geesnell L. Yap, the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), according to reports.
On the other hand, City Tourism Officer May Hope Arcenal presented the Strategic Financial Management Plan (SFMP) on Sept. 22, 2021 via a virtual meeting online. 
These two plans will support the ongoing initiatives of the city government to protect and manage its assets, which are potential sources of local revenues.
These plans are meant to guide the city government in the effective and efficient management of the city’s financial resources.

For the first time, the city government was able to produce the plans, prepared with the technical assistance of the USAID SURGE project.

Mayor Yap congratulated the Technical Working Group (TWG) for SAMP headed by City General Services Officer, Dr. Chris John Torralba. Yap also lauded the TWG for SFMP, led by the Expanded Local Finance Committee (LFC) chair Marisol Ocon Perocho, who is also the City Budget Officer.
USAID SURGE Project Dr. Rosalinda Paredes thanked Mayor Yap for the constant inspiration and support to make the city’s team members do their very best.
Dr. Paredes said the SAMP and the SFMP will be a lasting legacy of the City Government to the constituents of Tagbilaran.
