Buenavista mayor Dave Duallo bags the regional Dangal ng Bayan award from the Civil Service Commission (CSC), according to reports.
Duallo showed the award on Sept. 20, 2021 in a post on his personal social media account,
The winner of the Dangal ng Bayan Award is chosen based on the impact of the winner’s accomplishments.
The CSC recognized Duallo’s accomplishments which included among others the maintenance of peace and order, where he is able to transform the image of the town into a peace-loving municipality, and his push for quality tertiary education by securing the recognition of Buenavista Community College as a higher educational institution by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
He is also given recognition for improving health services such as the impressive Coronavirus disease (Covid) response, sanitation, and the management of Dengue fever, and teenage pregnancy.
Duallo was also given the accolade for his work in improving the economy of the town and for pursuing key infrastructure projects such as the construction of the public market, port, and road concreting.
The CSC also recognized Duallo’s efforts in streamlining the town government’s bureaucracy.
Duallo is also instrumental in improving the tourism sector of the town by developing the Pandao Sandbar and Cambuhat Oyster Farm.
Tha Dangal ng Bayan is one of the categories in the 2021 Search for Outstanding Government Employees.

Again, congratulations on your selection as one of the Regional Winners,” Carcos Evangelista, director of the CSC in Central Visayas said in a letter to Duallo dated Aug. 24, 2021.
Reports say that the winners must also secure clearances from National Bureau of Investigation, Commission on Audit, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Ombudsman and a nomination from the secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
