Panglao mayor welcomes PNP’s PSPG chief

Panglao mayor Leonila Montero welcomed the visiting chief of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG), according to a report.

PSPG chief Brig. Gen. Ferdinand A. Sifuentes, was in town on Sept. 23, 2021, when he had an unscheduled meeting with Panglao mayor at a local restaurant at Moadto Strip in the said town.

The mayor was at Moadto Strip for a transaction as the police officer was about to check in at the nearby hotel.

Montero and the police officer decided to sit down and talk at a nearby restaurant, the report adds.

The discussion was very cordial, and according to an observer, the accidental meeting turned out to be very gracious and productive.

Tagbilaran City police chief Lt. Col. Mary Crystal B. Peralta, escorted the visiting general to the hotel, and she was very instrumental in the engagement of Montero and Sifuentes.

According to a website of the PNP, the function of PSPG is to provide security to vital installations of the government, government officials, visiting dignitaries, and private individuals permitted to get police protection.
