Tagbilaran City initiates Brgy. Bakuna prog.

The City Government through the City Health Office (CHO) initiated the vaccination drive straight to the barangays

At the same time, one kilo of rice was also distributed each to the first 50 persons who got vaccinated in barangays Ubujan, Cabawan, Manga, and San Isidro, a report from The City Media Bureau says.

The vaccination centers already removed the priority categories which means that everyone can get vaccinated.

The vaccination centers also offered free SMART Prepaid SIM to those who are fully vaccinated and a P 40.00 discount for UNLI GIGA STORIES PLUS 99 or UNLI GIGA VIDEO PLUS 99 loads.

As of Sept. 17, 2021, the City Health Office (CHO) fully vaccinated 46,911 or 45.10% of the City’s total population of 104,976. It has administered 21,200 first doses to people in the City.

City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II said the City Government will continue to think of ways to encourage the people to get vaccinated.

“We have launched the mobile vaccination bus for those who cannot go to the vaccination centers; we also had the vaccination drive thru to cater to the tricycle drivers. We do not know when this pandemic will end, but we cannot afford to sit down and do nothing. We will meet this challenge proactively by exhausting all means to stop the spread of infection. I encouraged everyone to get vaccinated and be a part of the solution,” Mayor Yap said.

The vaccines against Coronavirus disease (Covid) are made available through the coordinated efforts of the City Government and the Provincial Government led by Gov. Arthur Yap with assistance from the Department of Health (DOH).

To date, the Tagbilaran CHO already increased the number of its vaccination sites and started to accommodated walk-ins for specified categories.

The city government targets to achieve herd immunity as soon as possible, especially that Tagbilaran City is the commercial center of the Province of Bohol.

The putting of social distancing markers, wearing of face masks and face shields are highly observed at the vaccination sites.

Meanwhile, Mayor Yap thanked the hardworking members of the vaccination team, the volunteers and health marshals who facilitated the traffic in the vaccination area.
