Chatto graces school building groundbreaking rites in Panglao

First district Cong. Edgar Chatto graced on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, the groundbreaking and time capsule laying ceremonies for a new school building at the Felix E. Bompat High School (FEBHS) in Bil-isan, Panglao, reports from the Office of Cong. Chatto says.

The P38 million project consists of a four-storey, twelve- classroom building, the same report adds.

Chatto facilitated the funding for the project through the Department of Education (DepEd) with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) implementing it.

He joined school and barangay officials in the event including school principal Dr. Nicetas Fudolin, Brgy. Capt. Albert Bompat.

Other dignitaries present in the said activity include Fernando Talagsa representing DPWH first district Engr. Godofredo Laga, DPWH construction section chief Engr. Josephine Cacho, and Engr. Matilde Chiu representing contractor BNYU Development.

Rev. Fr.  Victor Bompat officiated the blessing of the space where the building will be constructed.

Chatto said he lobbied for the construction of the school building to serve the needs of high school students of Bil-isan as the said barangay is quite far from barangays Lourdes and Poblacion, the areas where the other high schools are located.

Education is one of development thrusts Chatto has espoused as a public servant for many years, in addition to health, agriculture, tourism and information technology.

Moreover, also turned over during the event was the overhead tank, which is a barangay project, the report bares.

Also launched during the activity were proposed beach, multi-purpose bleachers and road concreting projects.

Meanwhile, a day earlier, on Sept. 30, 2021, Chatto attended the blessing and turnover of a multi-purpose building at Lourdes High School in Cortes.

He joined school head Dr. Carolina Camba, Public School District Supervisor Margarito Estose, Brgy. Capt. Macario Ongyot, Cortes Mayor Lynn Ivenn Lim, DPWH’s Engr. Laga, Board Members Aldner Damalerio, Ricky Masamayor, and Lucille Lagunay, with Helen Binangbang representing Marlito Uy of the Alturas Group of Companies, and Engr. Dondon Marapao of Lawrence Construction.
