Incumbent and re-electionist Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos has been officially nominated by the National Unity Party (NUP) as its vice gubernatorial candidate for Bohol, reports said.
Relampagos also confirmed that he will be running alongside Gov. Arthur Yap who will also bid for another term as the province’s Local Chief Executive.
Relampagos also remains as the provincial head of the NUP, one of the country’s major political parties.
In a statement, Relampagos acknowledged the triumphs of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) and hopes to continue the developments made in the province.
The Yap-Relampagos tandem has spearheaded numerous projects and programs that benefited the Boholanos.
Despite the challenges brought by the Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic, the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) has successfully crafted, developed, and implemented initiatives on health, agriculture, and tourism that have helped the province remain on its feet amidst the current health crisis.
Even with the black propaganda circulating in social media aimed at besmirching the accomplishments of the PGBh, Relampagos hopes that the tamdem’s accomplishments are seen, felt, and appreciated by the people to allow him and Yap another term in office.
Currently, the vice governor aims for the passage of the Buhat Pasultion Medical Assistance Program for Boholano Senior Citizens, a proposed ordinance that ensures the availability of maintenance medicines and the accessibility of medical services to Boholano senior citizens, complementing, if not enhancing, initiatives of the different local government units (LGU) as well as implementing national government agencies (NGA) in providing the best healthcare service to our elderly Boholanos.
