Christian De Guzman and Nifia Mae Oculam
Matchmaking was popular in the olden times. It worked well, too, with I Christian and Nifia Mae.
Yes, both were “matched” by a certain Albaik who paved the way for both Christian and Nina Mae to meet first in 2014 during the farewell party of a common friend.
Yet, their matchmaking story is very different from those we have heard of. After he saw her, he was very eager to court her. He was, indeed, attracted to her and, eventually, fell in love with her. And she had the same feeling for him. As everything went on smoothly, he proposed marriage to her on December 2, 2015 and the proposal led to the altar of the church at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Baclayon, Bohol for the marriage rites ON September 18, 2016.
SO LAST MONTH WAS THE COUPLE’S 5TH YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Let us have a look at their wedding celebration five (5) years ago. The ceremonies started at 2 in the afternoon with Fr. Joselito Clemen as officiating priest and with Gloria Leodiciva Ines Araneta and her team from “SMILE”, Philippines as commentator, coordinator and wedding reception master of ceremonies.
Dennis Saco of the CIO Redefining Moments handled well the photo and video coverage of the event including the wedding reception which was held at the Sandugo Grand Ballroom of Bohol Tropics Resort.
The groom is Christian de Guzman, from Cavite but currently based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as an Office Administrator of GASCO.
He is the 2nd child among three and during the processional he was with his mother, Mrs. Pauline de Guzman who was escorted by his brother Paul de Guzman.
The bride is Niija Mae Oculam from Baclayon, Bohol and she is the youngest among 5. She is an accountant of the Dr. Feras Dental and Orthodontist Center, also located at UAE. She is the daughter of Ponciano & Florencia Oculam.
Supporting “SMILE”, Philippines in the event were the following service providers: Jhanjhan del Valle & his team for make-up; Floral GaReda of Rowen Magante as florist and stylist; Musica Entre Nous of former Kag. Eric Cailete for the church choir; and Ellaine Ramirez for the wedding cake.
