Lila mayor Arturo Piollo II asks the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to help resolve the alleged P40 million “repa” investment scam, according to a report from the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

Piollo will help those who were victimized by the alleged large-scale swindling with the help of the NBI.

Piollo, who is a lawyer, revealed that he received requests for help from Lila-based victims of the alleged scam.

The victims want to recover their money that they placed in the alleged investment scam.

Ako na kini nga gi coordinate sa buhatan sa NBI para mahimoan ug imbestigasyon,” the mayor said in a post on social media.

The mayor said that he is going to exert all efforts so that justice can be served.

As this developed, the mayor cautioned the public to be careful in joining investment schemes.

A “repa” is a new investment scheme where people who invest are being promised of huge gains after some time, according to reports.
