The Pilipinas Shell Foundation Incorporated (PSFI), the social arm of Shell Companies in the country, partners with the City Government to undertake the challenge of building social and community awareness towards upholding environmental protection and development.

PSFI is committed to its vision of strengthening community systems.

Aligning with Tagbilaran City’s mission of enhancing sustainable and inclusive socio-economic growth, PSFI introduced its strategic approach on sustainable development by jumpstarting its corporate social responsibility efforts in the City starting with the centerpiece of their advocacy – the mangrove protection project in the coastal area of barangay Taloto.

The project saw the planting of 1,000 mangrove seedlings in the coastal area of barangay Taloto.

The mangrove planting empowered the community to take ownership and responsibility in protecting its natural resources.

Last week, Oct. 7, 2021, PSFI started the distribution of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) bins to the city’s 15 barangays.

The turn-over ceremony was led by City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II along with City Planning and Development Office head Engr. Estella Margate and City Environment and Natural Resources Officer Cesar Pelaez.

The donation is coupled with a composting training handled by DELCA Systems Technology.

These initiatives rolled out by the PSFI are geared to help the people in the community.
