Fishing boats rescue 3 persons after their banca capsized in the seawaters off Loay

Two fishing boats rescued three persons after their motorized banca capsized in the waters off between Pamilacan Island and Loay town on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, a report from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) says.

Coast Guard Sub Station Loay bared that a family was fishing on board their motorized banca when strong waves overturned the said sea vessel due to the disturbance caused by tropical depression Lannie.

The PCG’s substation in Loay first deployed responders upon receiving reports about the capsized motorized banca.

Moreover, the PCG’s vessel could not penetrate the huge waves, thus they asked the help of the Maria Rita Fishing’s Vessel Rita 8 and 9 to rescue the family.

In a Facebook post, Loay mayor Hilario Ayuban identified the family members as Efren Sera, his wife, Silvia, and daughter, Venus.

The mayor added that the persons were rescued and all are in good condition.
