SP approves affordable rental rates for PGBh’s agri machines

In the hope of helping the farmers and fisherfolks to accelerate their productions, Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) approved on third and final reading Provincial Ordinance No. 012-2021 that amends Provincial Ordinance No. 2018-014 which regulates the use and prescribes the rental rates of the agricultural and farm machineries owned by the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh).

In its regular session on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, chairperson of the Committee of Ways and Means Hon. Aldner Damalerio moved for approval on final reading the said amendments of the provincial ordinance.

The amendment also includes the rental rates for the newly and recently acquired farm equipment by the PGBh, namely: 1 unit Rice Mill, 6 units Corn Sheller, 1 unit Mechanical Dryer, 2 units Manual Water Drilling Rigs (hammer type), 5 units Coconut Peeling Machines, and 3 units Geo Resistivity Machines.

Based on the newly approved ordinance, the only adjustment made in the old rental rates is the use of 2 farm equipment, which are the Tractor with Rotavator (40 HP) and the Combine Harvester.

Farmers can now rent the said Tractor with Rotavator at P600/hr.

The rental fee for the Combine Harvester is now adjusted to P4500/hectare from P7000/hectare.

The rental rates for newly acquired equipment are as follows: Rice Mill – P2/kg of palay, Corn Sheller – P0.70/kg of corn grains, Mechanical Dryer – P1,200/batch load, Manual Water Drilling Rigs (hammer type) – P300/ft (6” drill bit), and Coconut Peeling Machines – P0.50/buko.

Furthermore, Geo Resistivity Machines will be rented out for P20,000 for private use and P10,000 for local government units/ national government agencies.

The rental package includes 3 technicians from the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh).
