Around 248 persons sought the help of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) in relation to the alleged repa scam on the 2nd day of the free legal assistance program, according to the Provincial Information and Media Relations‘ (PRIMER) report on Oct. 13, 2021.

The PGBh has been providing free legal assistance to victims of the alleged repa scam as mandated by Gov. Arthur Yap’s Executive Order (EO) 49, forming the Heart of Justice Task Force, at the Bohol Wisdom School (BWS) gymnasium.

The 248 persons who trooped to the BWS on Tuesday, are on top of the 965 persons who appeared in the 1st day of the free legal assistance program.

The legal assistance program started on Oct. 11, 2021 and will be extending help to victims until Oct. 15, 2021.

In an update, the PRIMER said that an additional 42 affidavits were executed by buyers and resellers with 52 new administrators identified.

Moreover, P55 million worth of new claims were mentioned by the victims to the PGBh task force.

Meanwhile, Provincial Legal Officer (PLO) Nilo Ahat said that the legal assistance program is absolutely free of charge.

He made the statement in reaction to reports accusing the PGBh of charging fees for providing legal assistance, which, Ahat said, is absolutely untrue.
