Top pulmonologist cautions Boholanos not to be complacent amid declining Covid cases in Bohol

Top pulmonologist Dr. Bryan Cepedoza cautioned the people of Bohol not to be complacent about the declining Covid cases in the province.

He advises the Boholanos to continue observing the health protocol even if the number of Coronavirus disease (Covid) cases continues to decline.

The pulmonologist made the statement during an interview over “Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa” on Oct. 13, 2021 hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

Cepedoza said that while the Boholanos should be glad that the number of cases is going down, still this is no reason to bring our guards down.

The doctor said that there is always a possibility of another wave if people will be complacent and if they fail to follow the protocol.

He said that aside from vaccinations, following the protocol remains the best way to keep oneself away from Covid infection.

As of 9 a.m. of Oct. 14, 2021, Bohol had a total of 753 active Covid cases with 516 reported deaths, based on the report of the Emergency Operations Center of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force. This is considered low as the number of active cases in Bohol reached as high as 2,000 back in Sept. 2021.
