PDEA incinerates in Cebu P25 million worth of shabu from Bohol

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has incinerated on Oct. 14, 2021, about P25 million worth of shabu confiscated from various operations in Bohol, in a crematorium in Cebu, according to reports released on Oct. 15, 2021.

The activity also saw the burning of illegal drugs that were seized in operations in other parts of Central Visayas, the same report adds.

The report bares that PDEA 7 information officer Leia Alcantara revealed that the illegal drugs from Bohol and other areas in Central Visayas were destroyed at the crematorium of Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes, Thursday morning, Oct. 14, 2021.

The Bohol Crime Laboratory in Sept. 2021, turned over 4.2 kilos of shabu to the PDEA-Bohol to be destroyed in Cebu.

Alcantara, in an earlier interview, said that the kilos of shabu seized in Bohol were transported to Cebu for destruction because there are no suitable incinerators in the province.

Once Bohol has an incinerator facility then the PDEA will destroy the seized drugs here and there will be no need to transport the said illegal contrabands to Cebu.

The 4.2 kilos of shabu from Bohol that were destroyed in Cebu came from 30 drug personalities arrested here from 2015 to 2018. The court has already resolved the cases involving these drug personalities.

Alcantara said the PDEA burned a total of 8.078 kilos of shabu, 177 grams of marijuana, 20,600 milliliters of nubain or nalbuphine hydrochloride, and 0.04 grams of cocaine.
