The rehabilitation of the earthquake-damaged church which is implemented by the National Museum is nearing completion. The Maribojoc church, declared a National Cultural Treasure, was one of the churches destroyed to rubbles after the October 15, 2013 earthquake. Its funding was facilitated through the Bohol Earthquake Recovery Plan put together by the Provincial Government with then Chatto as governor in coordination with local government units (LGU) and with a multitude of sectors, including the Dioceses of Tagbilaran and Talibon. Cong. Edgar Chatto (left) and Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Steven Robinson (right) exchange tokens during a simple welcome dinner party. The event was held on Oct. 18, 2021 where Chatto presented to the ambassador the book Lawig sa Pagdumala, a governance report of Bohol from 2010-2019, when the former was governor of Bohol. The Bohol-Australia partnership in development programs such as in road reforms through the Provincial Road Management Facility (PRMF), human resource development through the Philippines-Australia Human Resource Development Facility (PARHDF) is featured in the said coffee table book. AusAID was also among first to respond with relief assistance during the 2013 earthquake. Contributed photo
